Abu Dhabi's Grand Mosque Opens

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates, and has become a key place for worship since it opened. Construction for the building started back in 1994 and covered 30 acres after it was finally completed. It was created to unite the different cultures of the Islamic world and to provide a space with both historical and modern values of architecture and art.
