Airbnb Is Founded

Airbnb was founded by two roommates, Brian Chesky and Joe Gebbia. After putting an air mattress in their living room and turning their home into a bed and breakfast, the two former schoolmates came up with the genius idea. The pair created a website, Airbedandbreakfast.com, and offered short-term living arrangements for travelers unable to book hotel rooms. The rest is history.
