Alfre Woodard Stars In Clemency

Clemency had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize making director Chinonye Chukwu the first Black woman to win the award. After it was released worldwide, it received acclaim from critics who praised Alfre Woodard's performance as well as Chukwu's direction and screenplay. Clemency earned nominations for Best Feature, Best Female Lead, and Best Screenplay at the 35th Independent Spirit Awards.
