AOL Acquires Time Warner

America Online, a pioneer of dial-up internet access, acquires the world's largest media company, Time Warner. Within two years, boardroom disagreements drove out both of the CEO's who finalized the deal, and in October 2003, AOL Time Warner dropped "AOL" from its name, symbolizing the dominance of technological growth.
