Arab American Discrimination

Since the events of 9/11, there has been an increase in discrimination and prejudice against Arab Americans. Perceived prejudice events are stressors that are linked to lowered mental health for those being victimized in such events. A study shows that these experiences account for 47% of the variance in self-esteem and 33% of the variance for psychological distress.
