Fergie Releases The Dutchess
Fergie wanted to create an autobiographical album that would be more intimate between her and the listener for her debut solo album. In doing so, she experimented with different genres, including pop, R&B, hip-hop, and punk rock. Lyrically, The Dutchess features themes about love and critics, as well as dealing with her drug abuse and addiction. The most popular singles from the album were "London Bridge," "Glamorous," and "Fergalicious." Becoming a worldwide success, it was Billboard's third best album of the year.
