Kids Are OD'ing On Melatonin
Over the past decade, the number of children overdosing on melatonin has increased by 530%. The largest increase took place during the first year of the coronavirus pandemic, which researchers believe is likely due to the fact that kids were spending more time at home. More than 500,000 calls were placed to poison control centers about melatonin ingestion by kids in 2021 alone. In most cases, the parents didn't give the sleep aid to the kids, but the kids got into the bottles or containers themselves.
