Misty: The Star Ballerina

Misty Danielle Copeland becomes the first Black woman to be promoted to principal dancer in the American Ballet Theatre's (ABT) 75-year history. The ABT is one of the three leading classical ballet companies in the United States. Misty was considered a prodigy who rose to stardom, despite not starting ballet until she was 13. In addition to her dance career, Misty has become a public speaker, spokesperson, and stage performer. She has also written two books and narrated a documentary, titled A Ballerina's Tale, about her challenges.
