NCIS Airs On TV

The concept and characters for NCIS were first introduced on the show JAG, a legal drama that follows the U.S. Navy. Though initially slow in the ratings, it became a top-five hit by the sixth season and has remained there since. The show became so popular that an entire franchise was created, producing three different spin-offs. It has since become one of the longest running scripted series on television.
