Paul McCartney Releases 'Driving Rain'
On September 11th, Paul McCartney was sitting on a plane in New York when the terrorist attacks occurred. As he witnessed the events from his seat, he became enraged and felt determined to respond by composing the song "Freedom" and organizing The Concert for New York City. The song served as one of the lead singles for McCartney's 12th studio album, Driving Rain, which eventually went gold.
