Santana's Supernatural Breaks Records

The eighteenth studio album Supernatural by Latin rock band Santana was released in 1999 but skyrocketed in awards and acclaim the following year. It reached number one in eleven countries and was certified 15x platinum in the US. At the 2000 GRAMMYs, the project won eight awards, including Album of the Year, making Santana the first Hispanic artist/group to do so. They also tied the record held by Michael Jackson for most awards won in one night.
