Terrorists Bomb Trains In Madrid
193 people were killed and nearly 2,000 injured when 10 bombs simultaneously exploded on four different trains in Madrid. The bombs were later found to have been detonated by mobile devices, which were placed in backpacks and left on the trains by an extreme militant group. It is believed that the attacks were retaliation for Spain's participation in the war in Iraq, where about 1,400 Spanish soldiers were stationed at the time.
