The Mitchell Report Goes Public
After an investigation that lasted almost two years, the Mitchell Report is publicly released. It listed the names of 89 MLB players who had presumably taken steroids and growth hormones. Barry Bonds was right in the middle of an indictment for lying about steroids to a federal grand jury, and he was mentioned 103 times. The report rocked the baseball world and within the first three hours of it being posted online, it was downloaded 1.8 million times.
