The West African Black Rhino Is Extinct

The extinct animal was heavily hunted by poachers. By 2000 only 10 were estimated to still be alive. With each year, the number continued dwindled. In 2011, the rhino was officially declared extinct after it was last sighted in 2006 in Cameroon.
