A Robot Performs Science

A machine designed in Wales named Adam becomes the first robotic system to make a novel scientific discovery with virtually no human intellectual input. Adam was able to identify the role of about 12 genes in a yeast cell, completing the entire cycle from hypothesis to experiment to reformulated hypothesis.
