Instagram Disables Filters

Instagram's parent company Meta removes the ability to use certain filters in Texas and Illinois due to state facial recognition laws. Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit against Meta saying that the company is not allowed to store users' biometric information without their knowledge or consent beforehand. Only filters that augment the face were removed, but others that only alter a color or background are still permitted.
