NYC Removes The Last Payphone

It's truly the end of an era. Workers in New York City removed the last public payphone in Midtown Manhattan. Once an iconic symbol across the city, the rise of cell phones caused them to gradually become obsolete. Since 2014, phone booths have been getting replaced by LinkNYC kiosks - which offer services like free phone calls, Wi-Fi, and device charging.
