Israel Withdraws From Gaza
The Israeli disengagement from Gaza was the dismantling of 21 Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip. The move was prompted by the Disengagement Plan Implementation Law. It resulted in 8,000 Jewish settlers being relocated. Not only were all of the residents evicted from the area, but the residential buildings were also demolished.
