The U.S. Justice Department arrests a New York city couple for an alleged $4.5 billion cryptocurrency laundering scheme. Ilya Lichtenstein and his wife, Heather Morgan, stole the funds during the 2016 hack of Bitfinex. They had been spending the money on items ranging from gold to NFTs to Walmart gift cards.
