R. Kelly Is Sentenced

After managing to escape punishment for decades, R. Kelly is sentenced to 30 years in prison for sex-related crimes. The charges ranged from sex trafficking and kidnapping to sexual exploitation of a child. His case was mounted on the accounts of six different victims, five of whom testified. The sixth victim was R&B singer Aaliyah, whom he illegally wed when she was only 15.
