Napster launches, completely revolutionizing the music industry. Two teenagers Shawn Fanning and Sean Parker founded the file-sharing platform from their bedrooms. By the summer of 2000, Napster had about 14,000 songs being downloaded per minute. However, the success was short-lived. Within months Napster was involved in multiple lawsuits against record labels and musicians.
