Walt Disney Purchases Lucasfilm Ltd

Walt Disney purchased Lucasfilm Ltd for $4.05 billion. Founded by George Lucas in 1971, the company owns the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchise. The purchase makes Disney the owners of both Lucasfilm Ltd and Pixar. Pixar joined the world of Lucasfilm in 1979 before being acquired by Disney in 2006.
