
The Aral Sea Is Dry
The Aral Sea was once the fourth largest lake in the world. However by 2014, NASA satellites revealed that the eastern basin of the Aral Sea had completely dried up for the first time in 600 years. The area began to sink in the 1960s due to irrigation.
